I’m a Philadelphia-based writer with 15 years of experience producing features, articles, profiles, Q&As, research summaries, and reports for a range of publications and clients. My writing has appeared in The Oxford American, The Atlantic, Al Jazeera America, Pacific Standard, Psychology Today, Institutional Investor, Responsible Investor, and elsewhere. I am particularly interested in sharing stories that help bring into focus the economic systems and institutions that shape our lives.

I help brands, universities, and other organizations tell their stories by connecting their people’s big ideas to a wider audience. My regular clients include Northwestern University research magazine Kellogg Insight; Columbia Business Magazine; Berkeley Haas Magazine; Yale School of Management research magazine Yale Insights; and numerous universities and professors through higher education-focused marketing agency Circa Interactive.

I earned an MFA in Nonfiction Writing from Goucher College, and taught journalism as an adjunct professor at Manhattanville College in Purchase, New York, for three years.

I enjoy translating short stories by little-known female Argentinian writers; you can read some of my translations here.

"Having had over 10 years of experience working with Katie, I have proof of her competence in the form of a co-written book that was published by a major publisher. The experience was so constructive and successful that I later called on her to work on additional writing projects as an editor. Her writing is technically succinct, yet she has the additional gift of writing in an approachable, breezy style when the subject calls for it. Her real skill is mastering the details while never losing sight of a project's overarching thesis or destination point. Perhaps most importantly, Katie's personality is an absolute pleasure to collaborate with. Her wit and sweetness make the collaboration feel a lot less like work."
